Iranian government intends to hand over its share of the car manufacturer companies to the private sector.

Seemingly it's a good decision, but has created several worries. As a matter of fact the main question is that why the government has not still begun to privatize those companies which produce spare parts for cars? but it's to sell the whole industry in advance. It's many years that governmental manufacturer companies of spare parts have embraced a large portion of Iranian car industry and employment. Their management by the government has just only reduced the dexterity of manufacturers and now due to financial problems of car manufacturer groups, it's been announced that they are to be transferred to private sector. Undoubtedly such a process in regard with the large number of the spare part manufacturer companies as a subgroup demands a very large investment from the side of buyers which will question their purchase ability.

As a result, many buyers will have to withdraw and in their absence is quite possible that semi-governmental consortiums will own the industry. On the other hand, to sell the spare parts manufacturer companies may create new opportunities for the private sector, may help them to stable their financial conditions and reduce their problems.

The issue will be more significant when we observe that last year Iran Khodro Company which is called the biggest car manufacturer in the Middle East lost 1770 billion riyals (177 million dollars). The top managers of Iran Khodro and Saipa, the other major Iranian car manufacturer in the country have lately been removed to enable both companies follow new policies and programs. It must not be forgotten that transparency for private buyers is the most important element which helps them to participate at purchasing process with a clear program. In this manner, when the spare parts manufacturing companies are sold, the government won't lose anything, because the share prices of car manufacturers will grow and it can be satisfied that has sold an industrial group at a suitable price as well as supporting the production process, guarantees current jobs and creates new ones.

The decision made on the late Saturday will complete a major part of selling process, but the next stage which is supposed to be completed by the end of the current Iranian year will raise several questions. Many people are waiting for the next decisions and mostly are worried about the way that shares of Iran Khodro and Saipa companies are to be handed over. Definitely such concerns will be sustained.
